PrivateNotes is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you, and only you. We believe that privacy is not a feature, it is a fundamental right.
Unlike most note-taking applications that store your data on remote servers, Private Notes operates entirely offline. Your notes, passwords, addresses, and shopping lists never leave your device.
We do NOT collect, store, or have access to any of your data.
🔐 Data Encryption & Security
All data stored by Private Notes is protected with industry-standard encryption:
- AES-256-GCM encryption for all stored data
- PBKDF2-SHA256 key derivation with 100,000 iterations
- Unique random salt for each installation
- Unique random IV (Initialization Vector) for each encryption operation
- Your master password is never stored anywhere on the device
- Without your password, decryption is mathematically impossible with current technology

- localStorage: Primary storage for encrypted notes
- IndexedDB: Redundant backup storage
- All data stays exclusively on your device

- Export encrypted JSON backups anytime

🔄 Internet Usage
The application requires internet connection only for:
- Initial installation: Download from Google Play Store
- Updates: When new versions are available
All other operations; creating notes, editing, searching, backup, restore, work completely offline.
👶 Children's Privacy
PrivateNotes does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The application is designed for general audiences and contains no inappropriate content.
