PrivateNotes is designed with privacy as its core principle.
📱 Data Collection
PrivateNotes does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data to any server. All your notes, passwords, and other data are stored exclusively on your device using browser localStorage and IndexedDB.
🔐 Data Encryption
All data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption before storage. Your master password is never stored - it is only used to derive encryption keys via PBKDF2-SHA256.
📡 Internet Usage
The application works fully offline. Internet connection is only required for initial installation and updates. No data is ever sent to external servers.
📂 Data Storage
All data remains on your device. You can export encrypted backups manually. We have no access to your data.
🔒 Third-Party Services
PrivateNotes does NOT use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
🔔 Notifications
With your permission, PrivateNotes can send local reminder notifications for notes with reminder dates and times. All notifications are generated locally on your device. No notification data is ever transmitted to any server or third party. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device's app settings.
👤 User Control
You have full control over your data. You can delete all data at any time by clearing your browser storage or uninstalling the application.
